How To Clean Air Ducts

Things you’ll need – 

Keep all these things handy while you start the cleaning process.

  • A mini bucket or container
  • Warm Water
  • Dish Detergent
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Torch or flashlight
  • Kitchen cloths or rags

Air Duct Cleaning Process –

  1. Mix proportionate amounts of warm water and dish detergent in the bucket.
  2. Remove the duct cover (they may need to be levered off or screwed off or slide off depending on the type of duct)
  3. Use the cleaning solution to wipe off all the dust with a rag or a kitchen cloth. (Torch or Flashlight will help you locate dusts better.)
  4. Make use of a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt and dust particles that are far from reach.
  5. Clean up the inside walls thoroughly and let it dry well.
  6. Put back the vent cover and keep cleaning until all ducts are completed.

This method cleans up the visible dust and debris accumulated around the ends of the duct.
